Get involved

The teachers, staff, and students appreciate every volunteer whether you chaperone a field trip, support students in the classroom or help with school activities.  If you want to volunteer in any capacity, please arrange it with your child's teacher and make sure you have a Megan's Law Volunteer form on file in the office.

Below are additional ways to get involved with your child’s education and our school community:

PARENT AND TEACHER ASSOCIATION (PATA)

PATA is open to all parents or guardians of CVE students as well as teachers, school administrators, staff members of CVE, and any other residents in the CVE attendance area.  PATA meetings are generally held on the first Tuesday of the month at 6:30 PM and FREE childcare and dinner are provided during the meeting.

SCHOOL SITE COUNCIL (SSC)

The School Site Council (SSC) serves as an advisory group for the Single Plan for Student Achievement.  The council is comprised of parents and staff members with voting members equally divided between parents and staff.  The SSC monitors the school plan, assesses needs, sets goals, evaluates progress and updates the plan. SSC meetings are held on Wednesday afternoons at 4:00 in our school library. These meetings are open to the public and families are encouraged to attend.
