Castro Valley Unified School District Introduces
Jodi McCarthy 
for
Director of Student Services 


Castro Valley, CA – (May 6, 2026) – At the May 6th board meeting, the Castro Valley Unified School District Board of Education introduced Jodi McCarthy as the Director of Student Services. 

Ms. Jodi McCarthy has worked with the Alameda Unified School District for 17 years as a counselor, Interim Principal, and Student Support Services Coordinator. In these various roles, she has planned, developed, and managed all aspects of the district's Student Services programs, including child welfare, attendance, discipline, and grant-funded initiatives. Responsibilities include collaborating with staff to enhance student support services, analyzing data to improve performance, developing and ensuring compliance with policies, and delivering professional development. Ms. McCarthy has also implemented interventions that address academic, career, and personal/social development for all students.


Ms. McCarthy earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from San Jose State University and a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from National University.
